I absolutely love this tearoom! I'm a big fan of tea, and I get by during the week making myself a daily cup. Every Saturday, however, I treat myself to The English Rose and I am never disappointed. The staff are a delightful bunch of people who I thoroughly enjoy seeing every weekend. The food is beyond describing for I fear my words would sell it short. It is beyond comparison and always up to the highest of standards. Its also wonderful for the eater on a budget. I'm in college right now and I always have enough cash for a weekly visit to the tearoom. If you asked me to go somewhere else for food on Saturday, my answer would be a big blunt 'no'. The English Rose Tearoom is THE best food in Chattanooga and I recommend it to anyone who wants an experience to remember.

My husband and I lived in Chattanooga for a short time several years ago. During one of my mother's visits, she and I had lunch at the English Rose. She has since passed away, and the memory of our afternoon at your Tearoom is very special to me. One day I hope to make a trip to Chattanooga just to return to the English Rose! In the meantime, I have a beautiful teapot which I bought in your shop as a Christmas gift for my mother, and I cherish it as a reminder of that special time we had together.

What a pleasant surprise and a real English treat - right in the middle of Chattanooga. The tea is tops and the sandwiches, soup and desserts - very English and great tasting.
Will have to visit again soon.

Thank you Patricia for your kind words. We pride ourselves on our service and our food. Please do come back soon. Thank you!

Throughly enjoyed the visit to the English Rose. My mom and Mawmaw are both British and I've been raised with quite a bit of the food from your menu. Your restaurant was very nice and clean, the decor was spectacular and we all wish we couldn't have left Chattanooga. We also loved being able to buy your available candies, we bought Smarties, tons of Flake bars, Buttons and Maltesers. We wish we had one here in Memphis but it's wishful thinking. :)

What a delightful restaurant! I would like to host a private party for one afternoon, a Holiday tea party. I know you are probably booking fast for this season but would appreciate a response soon so we can get on your calendar. Thanks!

Hi Christy,
We would love to work with you. Could you email me @ theenglishroseonline@yahoo.com and give me your email address? Or you can call us; 423-265-5900. We look forward to serving you. It would certainly be manageable and our etiquette classes are just $25. Plus food, but we can work with you about that.

Thanks so much.
Best regards,

I love visiting the English Rose for lunch with friends when time/work allows it. Looking now to plan an activity for our Girl Scout Troop and wanted to see what options might be available to us. I know that I had seen etiquette classes listed at one point. We have a pretty big group ranging in age from K-7th (Daisy - Cadette) and would break them down into smaller groups to make it more manageable. Wanted to see if someone could point me in the right direction as to where I could find some info. As with all non-profit groups being led by parent volunteers we don't have a huge budget to work with. Thanks for any info you can email me.

I love to eat at The English Rose Tearoom and have just moved back to Chattanooga. I need a gluten free option now, though. Wish you had a choice of some fresh cooked English meat to have with a salad.

Dear Sheila,

We have had others who are on a gluten free diet. We try to cater to them as much as possible. We would certainly be willing to work with you and your dietary needs.

Please don't let it stop you from coming to visit us.

Best regards,

My husband and I so enjoyed your shop and beautiful tearoom on our recent visit to Chattanooga. So much so we went there three times and the food was absolutely wonderful! The atmosphere gave my husband reflections of home and for me it was a lovely and peaceful time shared together (something that doesn't happen too often at home). Your staff was terrific, very friendly and helpful. Thanks for being the finishing touch to our time spent there. Hope to visit again sometime soon.

Your establishment is an oasis of calm delight in a too too busy world. My daughter lives in Chattanooga and when I visit it is a highlight to have high tea at the English Rose. On holidays my daughter surprises me with "goodies" from your gift shop. What a wonderful place, food, and what wonderful people. Thank you for always being as good as I remembered.......every time.
God Bless,

Wonderful experience! Great menu. It's so nice to have a sit down with real china, real table cloths, real napkins, and one doesn't have to yell to be heard by the person opposite you, because of loud music. There is no junk on the walls. The English Rose offers a lovely quiet time with quality atmosphere, and good food.

I had a princess birthday party for my daughter who turned 8, the tables were set up nicely, the girls had their own princess tea cups, and the staff was extremly nice, professional and attentive. The food was excellent. We enjoyed ourselves and the girls requested another visit and party. I rate the English Rose Tea Room 5 stars. Everyone should experience the joy and happiness the girls and I had. This would be the perfect place to have lunch and catch up with the girls.

A while ago my mother, sister and myself were treated to your place of buisness. Loved it. We rarely get to enjoy time together so this was an ideal choice. My mother had been before with family and friends and recomended it highly. We had a delightful time. So sweet and charming. My sister has a birthday coming up and I want to treat her and my mother once again to the tea room. Can't wait till then. Thank you for offering our area such a wonderful taste of your culture. Thank you once again and hope to see you soon.

Had a wonderful little vacation in Chattanooga over the 4th of July weekend from Birmingham, AL, and Yours was our first stop in town (before we even got to our hotel!) and it was so amazing, it was the last stop out of town, too! I grew up on this food, my mum's English (and is living over there now) and this was a great taste of perfect British food. My boyfriend - who is a man's man, and I was praying it wouldn't be too dainty for him - really loved it, too! Thank you for keeping such a fabulous establishment, it's even better than the majority of the tea rooms I've been to in England!

My husband is originally from Northants and he was missing some of his home food. He had the steak and kidney pie. It reminded him of home. We have nothing like The English Rose here in Wisconsin. It was a wonderful part of out trip to Chattanooga. What a lovely place!

Love, Love, Love this place! My husband and I recently spent a week in London and upon our return home, we really missed the McVitties and tea that we enjoyed on our vacation. We were so delighted to find such a genuine experience right here at home. I really had a hankering for a pastie and was not disappointed. Keep up the great work! Cheers :-)

My wife and I will be visiting Chattanooga for the first time in April/may this year and will be taking in your tea room.
We are ex Brits living in Canada and will try not to be too critical when we taste those sandwiches and devon cream, mmmmmm can hardly wait. By the way do you serve Tetley tea?

We're happy you're coming to visit us. Hopefully, you've already been and have had a lovely experience. If you haven't been yet, we do try and be as authentic as possible. We serve PG Tips as our house tea. But, if you prefer, we do have Tetley as well.
Cheers!
